Frequently asked questions

Questions families ask us first

Is adult day right for us?

How do I know if it’s time?

Many families start when a loved one can no longer be safely left home alone, is lonely or bored at home, isn’t eating well, or when the family caregiver needs to work or rest. Our care guide can help.

Do you accept people with dementia or Alzheimer’s?

Yes. We care for adults with Alzheimer’s, dementia and other memory impairments every day, along with adults living with MS, ALS, chronic illness and physical disabilities.

What if my loved one refuses to go?

That’s common at first. Visit together, stay for lunch, and come along for the first few days if it helps. Many people settle in once they’ve made a friend or two.

Is adult day only for seniors?

No. We care for adults living with memory loss, MS, ALS, chronic conditions and physical disabilities, not only older adults. Call us to talk about whether we’re the right fit.

Cost and coverage

What does adult day care cost in Ohio?

The Ohio median for adult day health care is about $83 a day, roughly a quarter of a shared nursing home room ($302). Many members pay little or nothing through Medicaid waiver, PASSPORT or MyCare Ohio.

Does Medicare pay for adult day care?

Call our billing department at 330-658-7035, option 4, to discuss your options if you’re on Medicare.

Is transportation included?

Transportation is billed separately and is often covered by the same programs.

Days and logistics

What are your hours?

Both centers are open Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 4:00 pm. Rides run Monday to Saturday, 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. We close on major holidays.

Can my loved one come part-time?

Yes. Call us to talk about which days work for your family.

What should they bring?

A change of clothes, daytime medications in a pharmacy-labeled bottle, and any personal care items they use.

What will they do all day?

Exercise, crafts, bingo, cards, Wii games, cornhole, memory activities, outdoor time and field trips, plus three meals.
